AKTI’s Argonaftes Anthi Gavriel, Marisa Ieridou and Valentini Stavrou, attended the information visit in Brussels between the 17th – 20th of April 2013 organized by the European Commission in Cyprus. Greek and Turkish Cypriot members of environmental NGOs were the target participants. The aim of the visit was to acquaint the participants with the European Union’s Institutions (the Commission, the Council, the Parliament, the European Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions). Main focus was given to the European integration, citizens’ rights and the policies of the European Union and particularly the actions of the Commission related to Environmental Protection and Climate Change. Presentations on the initiatives of the European Union with respect to environment and climate change were given to the participants who had the opportunity to network with the other participant organizations, as well as with policy officers of the European Commission.

24, 25 and 26 September 2012, 09:00 am: the interactive education method of LitusGo on ICZM will be implemented in Limassol coastal area (in fond of Olymbia stadium- Thalassaki) by AKTI Project and Research Centre within the framework of the NAUTILUS platform. An activity of the EU Presidency of Cyprus.
More than 180 school children, ages 10 to 16 are expected to participate. The Mayor of Limassol will participate the 25th of September. The activity is supported by ISOTECH ltd (LitusGo leader) and the Argonautis program (a program by AKTI and EuroLife).

During the period 30th of April and 6th of May 2012, AKTI’s Argonaftis Elena Kokkinou, represented Cyprus and AKTI Project and Research Center in a project which took place in Porto of Portugal. The topic of the training course was titled “A lost Generation? NFLearning 4 Youth in Employability” organized by TDM200 International and was funded by ‘Youth in Action’ Programm. Young people from 15 different countries were participated in the relevant training course. The main topic explored was the youth unemployment and suggestions for the solution of this problem were discussed among the participant youth. The discussion focused on the differences and similarities between the employment realities of each country, as well as, the policies and strategies developed in each country for the reduction of youth unemployment. In addition, the participants were trained in several European youth programmes and were informed on the existing opportunities in developing research programs, as well as, on youth employment opportunities abroad.
