AKTI is currently conducting a survey aiming to capture the needs and barriers of CSOs on the island and receive their recommendations as to what needs to change for them to be better able to achieve their goals.

The responses to this questionnaire will form the basis for developing a solution-oriented Policy Tool with solutions to inherent problems of Cypriot Civil Society. With “Knowledge leads to awareness; Awareness leads to change” as its motto, this project aims to create synergies and join forces among CSOs and informal groups and to build networks of active citizens across the divide. Through its solution-oriented approach, AdvocaCY aims to build skills and capacity and, encourage citizens to advocate for their right to a sustainable environment. The project also aims to boost bi-communal cooperation on promoting sustainability and transforming this collaboration into a peace building tool.

The ‘’AdvocaCY: Participate, learn, decide, challenge: Stronger Cypriot Civil Society for sustainability, advocacy, and change! ‘’project benefits from a grant under the Active Citizens Fund Cyprus programme, funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway, through the EEA and Norway Grants 2014-2021.

The project is implemented by AKTI Project and Research Centre in collaboration with the organizations of MASDER and Norsensus Mediaforum.T
